Tassie Abels is a place for hikers to log their summits, share the experience, and cheer each other on as they work through the Abels. These guidelines explain how we keep it a friendly, safe, and on-topic community for everyone.
They sit alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Where these guidelines use plain language, the Terms of Service remain the binding version.
Treat other hikers the way you'd want to be treated at a summit cairn — with warmth, respect, and a bit of encouragement. Most of what follows is common sense. We've written it down so everyone knows what to expect.
To keep the community welcoming, please don't:
Your username, profile photo, bio, and any social media handles or website links are part of the community too. Keep them appropriate. Offensive, discriminatory, sexually explicit, misleading, or impersonating profiles aren't allowed, and we may modify or remove them.
Only upload photos you have the right to share. Make sure they're relevant to the summit or the walk, and free of offensive or inappropriate material. Be thoughtful about including other people — especially children — without their consent.
If you manage an account for a family member, you're responsible for the content posted under it and for their use of the app. Please make sure anything shared follows these same guidelines. More detail is in Section 3 of our Terms of Service.
If you come across a review, comment, profile, photo, or other content that breaks these guidelines, please report it using the in-app reporting tools — tap the report option next to the content. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team on a best-efforts basis. We'll take reasonable action, though we can't guarantee a specific outcome or response time.
You can block another user at any time from their profile. Blocking hides their activity from you and prevents them from interacting with you. You can review and manage blocked users in the app under Profile → Blocked Users.
Depending on what's happened, we may remove content, edit or reset an offending username or profile photo, issue a warning, or suspend or permanently terminate an account. We may act in response to user reports or at our own discretion. Serious or repeated breaches can lead to removal without warning.
