Log your summits, follow your progress across all 158 Tasmanian Abels, and join a community of Tasmanian summit seekers.
The list explained
The Tasmanian Abels are the 158 mountains in Tasmania that rise above 1,100 metres with at least 150 metres of topographic prominence. Named after the explorer Abel Tasman and popularised by Bill Wilkinson's two-volume guidebook The Abels, the list has become the definitive peak-bagging challenge for Tasmanian bushwalkers.
They range from accessible day walks like Cradle Mountain and Ben Lomond's Legges Tor to remote multi-day expeditions such as Frenchmans Cap and the peaks of the Western Arthurs. Tassie Abels helps you track which of the 158 Tasmanian Abels you've climbed, plan your next summit, and compare progress with fellow hikers.
